Our Story

We think we have a pretty good story, as far as stories go.

In August 2005, Anna left Alabama for the great country of Australia for a 6-month missions program with YWAM. At the same time in far off Canada, Adam was finishing up work and preparing for his own journey to Australia and NZ, his mission being simply to travel the countryside with friends. Little did we know that our paths would cross only a few months later to begin something awesome.

By November, Adam and his travelling companion Lance decided to visit a friend of Lance's in Maroochydore, Queensland. Maroochydore was the base of YWAM Sunshine Coast, where this friend had joined the program, and was on the route Adam and Lance were taking down the East Coast.

Within five minutes of his arrival at the base, Adam met Anna - his heart immediately sung a new tune of joy and love; her eyes saw a crazy looking backpacker, so she smiled, said "Hi ya'll!", and went on her way. But it didn't take long before we met up again and started a friendship that would last for 3 more months, despite being in two completely separate continents.

It was time for Adam to return home by February, so he made plans to return to Canada via an extra week-long holiday in Florida with a few of his Canadian friends. And, lucky for him, Anna (who had already returned to the US) made her own plans to meet him there. Both were nervous, but excited, to see the other after all this time. Many thoughts swirled in their heads: What if they aren't who I thought they were? Could this be just my imagination? Am I crazy?!?

But all of these questions were soon and quickly laid to rest in the Tampa Airport, where quite possibly one of the greatest reunions in all of history took place.
And now, a year later, we're getting married.
